Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10, 1949) is an American businesswoman investor and speaker. She is also a consultant, speaker, syndicated columnist, author, and television personality. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran soon exited the business. Corcoran, one of ABC's first Shark investors, has been a part of every episode of Shark Tank. Corcoran has signed 53 deals until February 2020. The biggest deal she signed was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was the second child of 10 children born to a working class Irish-Catholic couple located in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence was her mother. She was an excellent homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. Sometimes, her family relied upon free food delivery from a friendly local grocery store. Corcoran claims that her father was drunk who did her mother a disservice and condescension. Corcoran had difficulty at school and was later told that she had dyslexia. Corcoran went to the local Catholic elementary school and started high school at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. After failing several courses in her freshman year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and graduated as a D student.
