Maria Elena Bello
Maria Elena Bello was born April 18 1967. She is an American actor and producer. Her film credits include Permanent Midnight (1998), Payback (1999), Coyote Ugly (2000), The Cooler (2003), A History of Violence (2005), The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008), Grown Ups (2010), Prisoners (2013) and Lights Out (2016). Bello was a major player on TV as Dr. Anna Del Amico in the medical drama ER (1997-1998) and with other starring roles such as Michelle McBride in the first season (2016) of Goliath and Jacqueline Sloane, Special Agent on NCIS between 2017 and 2021. Bello was born on 18 April 1967 in Norristown in Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Kathy, a school nurse and teacher and Joe Bello, a contractor.Her father is Italian American, with roots in Montella, Italy, and her mother is Polish American.She was raised in a working-class, Catholic family and graduated from Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor, Pennsylvania. She studied political science at Villanova University. Bello continued to train in acting in several New York theater productions after she graduated. Bello was married to Dan McDermott and has a son who is named Jackson. She wrote in November 2013 about her similar-sex relationship, Clare Munn, and how it ended. She released a book entitled Whatever...Love Is a Love: Examining the labels We Place on Ourself. (Dey Street Books. April 28, 2015).
